Topcoat's team began work on the new Lion Breweries site in Ormiston Road, East Tamaki, in March 2009.
The first stage was the shot blasting and floor preparation, and BASF Ucrete DP6 application in the Brew Process Area (BPA). Click here for the BASF Ucrete DP Job Reference.
A 0.7mm aggregate was chosen by the architect, Beca, to provide a non slip surface that was also easy to clean, and topcoated in BASF grey.
Following on from this initial work were the external & internal bunds in the Brew House, Hop Store, and Utilities area. For this application, BASF Ucrete WR was specified on the coving detail to provide the necessary chemical resistance.
The packaging area - 3500m² - was completed in October 2009, using the same BASF Ucrete system.
Topcoat has also been engaged by Dempsey Wood at Lion Breweries to coat all manhole service points with Sauereisen 210RS. More details about this can be found under Specialist Coatings.
